comment What is “Sourcing”?
@Łukasz웃Lツ: I encourage you to ask some sample questions on this proposal, then.

@Łukasz웃Lツ: This proposal isn't intended "for expatriates", per se. Do you have a better idea for a name?

@fbueckert: I'm just wondering why that registration is valuable. Do you have a suggestion to improve the proposal? If not, it just sounds like nay-saying for its own sake. Pardon me if I'm being too skeptical... I of course welcome constructive criticism, but simply being negative for its own sake doesn't help either this proposal, nor the Area51/SE community at large.

@fbueckert: That's why it's called an experiment. Is your comment meant to provide any value? Or are you just making a prediction so you can say "I told you so" when the proposal fails?

comment What is the purpose of this proposal?
@Shahar: Well, it's a start. It will probably get closed as "Primarily Opinion based", since the views on that question vary greatly... but since that's what you're looking for, I don't know. I just don't see it as a viable proposal.

comment What is the purpose of this proposal?
@Shahar: Before your proposal can reach the next stage, it MUST have 40 questions (or in your case "topics") with 10 or more upvotes each. If you don't propose any topics, you obviously can't reach 40. With over 1400 rep on Area 51, I would expect you to know this by now.

comment What is the purpose of this proposal?
@Shahar: Example question would just be any topic -- then it should be super easy for you to come up with some. But if you feel it's not worth your time to do so, that's fine... that just means the proposal will never reach commitment phase (and will probably be closed very very soon).

@Shahar: Well, I still think it's off topic, but please prove me wrong by providing some good sample questions.

comment There is meta site for this purpose
What need are you trying to fill? What problem are you trying to solve? Most new users don't need that sort of hoop to jump through. Perhaps none of them do. Comments and meta, in my opinion, do a fine job of solving the problem of un-initiated users. What piece do you think is missing?

2. "First, meta's purpose isn't only to review questions, and if many people used meta for this purpose then the site will be unusable" It's true that's not meta's only purpose, but it's also untrue that the site would be unusable if people used it for that purpose. People use it for that purpose all the time, and meta succeeds.

1. You shouldn't explain all your ideas in one sentence. You should instead create sample questions--why haven't you done this?

comment Should there be a separate proposal for Appraisal
@logixologist: The two topics really aren't that closely related. Most experts in one field are not experts in the other. As such, combining them to reach "critical mass" sooner isn't really possible. We might reach SE's arbitrary requirements sooner, but the site would flounder; same as combining "Rocket science" and "brain surgery" into the same site. Both require really smart people, but only half of the members would be able to participate in any given question; leading to a bunch of questions with an audience well below critical mass.

comment Geocaching is a duplicate of The Great Outdoors?
Another approach would be to ask sample questions on the geocaching proposal which would be off-topic on The Great Outdoors.
