too much overlap with Gardening and Landscaping? That's a reasonable reason to start a Farming proposal; but shouldn't there be some Farming questions that aren't on-topicon G&L? |

Unfair commitment score @PédeLeão: I said "programmers" because Stackoverflow is about programming. The same would apply to any site; whether about the Portuguese language, or any other topic. |

Wouldn't “Miss Manners” be a better name for this proposal? @luserdroog: SE is always about attracting experts. That doesn't change based on beta status. |

Wouldn't “Miss Manners” be a better name for this proposal? @luserdroog: Okay, but then you're not the kind of person the site is targeting. SE sites target experts, not casual passers-by. To attract experts to answer the sample questions, "Etiquette" is likely a much better bet. |

Wouldn't “Miss Manners” be a better name for this proposal? Well, the dictionary agrees with me on the first point. And the second point is simply my own opinion, so I don't expect anyone else to necessarily agree. |

Other Alcohol sites too specific to make critical mass Opening its doors to Pros and Micros might be a good idea, as that is opening their doors to more "expert" questions. But that's completely unrelated to this question, about lowering the standard for questions, and including such completely novice questions as "what is the difference between ale and lager"? |

Can a Stack-Overflow proposal in a different language be called xx.stackoverflow.com where xx is the language itself? @CaioProiete: If your 2700 devs would sign up for the proposal, it would get to beta much faster. |

Make Sign Language part of a wider 'Disability' proposal @MatthewHiggins: Of course it was just an idea. And my post was just an expression of why it was a bad idea. No need to get defensive. I'm not attacking you! |
