Why are these separate ?

Proposal: Atheism

Proposal: Skeptic Exchange

After reading more carefully the definition of each site I have come to the conclusion that they should both be separate but so that future users don't post the same question it might be a good idea to leave this question up. – Joshua Robison Feb 21 '11 at 1:04

Skeptic Exchange is for questions about pseudoscience, it is not for discussions about the existence or nonexistence of gods. Take a look at the top 5 on-topic questions for Skeptic Exchange, all of those would be off-topic on Atheism.

I strongly oppose merging those two, there is a certain overlap in the communities for those sites, but the content of the two sites is different.
