We are currently thinking of changing our lending/borrowing procedures for ILL. We now allow patrons 8 current requests pending/received - considering changing this to 10. We currently do not lend/borrow any A/V items of any kind - now considering 'educational' (21 day) video lending. Considering more use of electronic methods of lending - mainly periodical articles and photocopies of book pages. And also in consideration is allowing patrons to enter ILL requests online themselves. This would be approved and sent by a ILL staff member before it's actually placed into OCLC.

Does anybody have any experience with any of these procedures that they would share? I'm especially interested in the video lending, to see how that works for others.

Thanks!

This sounds like a question for a Library Q&A, but that site has not been created, yet. This site is to discuss the creation of such sites, so support you favorite proposal and you can ask your questions when the site gets created. – Robert Cartaino Nov 4 '11 at 18:54
