Proposal: Speculative Science

The current example questions are all related to the physical sciences. Would social science questions be on-topic?

This is a fair question in that renaming it from "What If" to "Speculative Science" harshly fails at making this proposal any less ambiguous. One definition of the word "science" is "knowledge of any kind" - so how exactly does using that word help define the scope of the proposal? The correct translation of the current tile would be "knowledge of/about speculation." – animuson Sep 5 '16 at 2:22

I find it is usually best to post a good question (or two) on the proposal to test scope, before posting a meta discussion about it. If the response there is not clear, then post a meta discussion for get clarity. – James Jenkins Sep 5 '16 at 11:57
